IBackup
allows for access from Macintosh platforms. This page describes details
on mounting your IBackup account as a volume that can be used to drag-n-drop,
cut-n-paste and edit files and folders directly. There are two sections.
The first part describes mounting your IBackup account as a volume
on Mac OS X and later versions and the later part describes the process
using Goliath for earlier versions of Mac, achieving similar results.
In fact, we recommend Goliath even for Mac OS X due to its SSL support.
IBackup strongly
recommends use of compression using Stuffit
for transferring files between Windows and Mac platforms, and also
for Mac platforms in general for its compression ability, also helps
in speeding of transfers. In addition, using stuffit resolves compatibility
issues related to some special Mac file types.
For details
on accessing IBackup using FTP, please see FTP.
You can also
use IBackup's QManager to browse and share the files using any standard
browser on the Mac platform. Currently, there is no native scheduler
IBackup application developed for the Mac platform. We recommend
Retrospect Express,
an excellent backup scheduling application for the Mac platform
that can be used with IBackup accounts due to its FTP compatibility.

Mac
OS X makes it easy to store, retrieve and begin working with your
colleagues online using WebDAV, because you dont have to install
or use any special software. A WebDAV client is built into every copy
of Mac OS X similar to WebFolders for Windows.
To gain access
to your IBackup account, all you need to do is mount it to your
desktop, which is a straightforward process:
1. Select the
Connect to Server command from the Finder (Finder, GO, Connect to
Server) or press Command K.
2. Within the
Connect to Server window, type in the name of the IBackup's url
to your account. Ex: http://webdav.ibackup.com/users/mjohn/Files
. Replace 'mjohn' with your username. Mac OS X does not support
SSL connections yet. But Goliath does.
